Business and Sales Development Manager (USA and Canada)

Compliant IA is looking for a B2B Business and Sales Development Manager (USA and Canada).

Compliant IA is a Toronto-based software company developing a suite of store communication and execution applications for the retail industry. While we feel and operate like a "startup", we are an established cash-positive company, with a 9-year history and broad industry adoption. We have very low customer churn and 100+ enterprise customers operating in 21 countries. We are progressive, creative doers with no time for red tape. We are passionate about software and the retail industry.

This is a full-time position with a competitive base salary and the availability of uncapped, residual commission including new account bonuses. You must be located in Toronto and able to work from our office located in Leslieville in downtown Toronto some of the time. Underground parking is included. You may also work from home. The position also includes 4-weeks paid vacation and benefits. You must have a valid Canadian work permit and a valid passport to travel to the United States.

You will be responsible for sourcing net-new business through active prospecting and building relationships with Directors, Vice-Presidents and C-level executives in the retail industry. This position involves cold calling, approaching new customers on behalf of Compliant IA, setting up demos, and partnering with our Customer Experience team to support the customer through the trial. This is a dedicated sales position; you are not responsible for ongoing account management and will have a dedicated account support team.

The successful candidate will bring the following to the position: B2B sales experience, retail industry experience, high-touch prospecting, tradeshow experience, experience selling Software-as-a-Service solutions, history of meeting and exceeding sales targets, and experience influencing decision-makers in the retail industry.

Responsibilities

1. Sales prospecting. Source potential customers using business directories, cold calling, and relationship building to increase the Compliant IA pipeline.

2. Attending industry tradeshows. Create brand awareness, meet with potential customers, answers customer questions and provide short, onsite software demos.

3. Customer service. Interacting with enterprise customers and c-level executives of large organizations. As a Compliant IA representative, you will conduct online training, webinars, and demos, answer questions from customers and discuss integration issues.

4. Customer relationship management. Maintain ongoing communication with customers throughout the life of the sales process and trial. We are focused on the relationship with customers and customer feedback. This is an essential part of the job and one that requires finesse, diplomacy and great listening skills.

Professional Experience / Must-have skills:

1. 3-5+ years of selling software as a service (SaaS) B2B.

2. Proven ability to prospect and close new business.

3. Finesse to overcome customer objections including switching costs.

4. Experience with both inside and outside sales.

5. Knowledge of retail industry pain points. Our software exists to alleviate the pain points of retail execution. Any first-hand experience you may have with the store environment will help you understand the need and the product.

6. Great communication skills, both written and verbal.

7. Detail-oriented and organized. Ability to manage, track, and report on the progress of numerous customer accounts.
